II. Data Security & POPIA Compliance
As the “Responsible Party,” VitaScience is legally accountable for your Personal Information (PI) under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
A. Consent and Use
- Explicit Consent: You are fully informed and provide explicit consent for what information we collect, the specific labs/partners that receive it (the Operators), and the exact purpose of the processing.
- Minimal Processing: We only share the necessary personal data (name, DOB, unique ID) with our lab partners to run the analysis. Your sensitive health data remains on our secure, encrypted cloud platform.
B. Security and Storage
- End-to-End Encryption: All data transmitted between your device, our cloud platform, and our clinical oversight partners is protected by SSL and industry-leading encryption.
- Data Minimisation: We only retain your Personal Information for as long as is necessary to provide the longevity education service, in line with legal and regulatory medical record-keeping requirements.
- Operator Contracts: Every outsourced partner (logistics, lab, supervising physician) signs a legally binding contract confirming their adherence to our strict POPIA-compliant security measures.
